There’s personalized, and then there’s putting your family name across nearly the entire coaster. We went with the second option.
Instead of engraving the design onto the surface, the lettering is cut directly through the wood. A felt backing underneath shows through the openings, creating the dark contrast and giving the coaster its layered look.
Your family name gets most of the attention, with the established year tucked in below. The natural wood grain will vary from piece to piece, so even before we add your name, no two will look quite the same.
This makes a fun wedding or housewarming gift, but you certainly don’t need a special occasion to claim your coaster territory. If you’re proud of the name, put it out there.
Just remember to put your drink on it occasionally. It does have a day job.
